On September 17, as part of the program of the All-Russian Competition of Ballet Dancers and Choreographers, the Assembly of the International Federation of Ballet Competitions took place. Representatives of the largest world ballet competitions arrived in Yaroslavl.
The main task of the Federation is to search for new talented performers, to assist in the development of their professional skills and the promotion of young artists among theaters and concert venues. The president of the Federation is Sergey Usanov.
During the meeting of the Assembly topical issues of the development of the Federation were discussed. One of the important topics for discussion was the change in the conditions for accepting new members. Based on the results of the vote, it was decided to establish a trial period of three years for new members of the Federation, the results of which will consider the further approval of candidates. The leaders of major international festivals also expressed initiative in introducing common criteria for participating in festivals, as well as preferences for winners.
2020 is the anniversary year for the International Federation of Ballet Competitions. In this regard, the members discussed the holding of an anniversary gala concert in 2020, at which the winners of major international festivals and competitions will perform. It is planned that the event will take place in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. In addition, the participants of the meeting took the initiative to prepare a publication dedicated to the history of the Federation.

The International Federation of Ballet Competitions was created in 2005 during the X International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers in Moscow. Then its members were the twelve most significant international ballet competitions in the world.
